Diego Carvallo has raced BMX throughout South America and represented Bolivia in the 2007 Pan American Games held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil where Jason Richardson won the Gold for Team USA. This summer, Diego packed his bike and came to America so he could train with fellow Pro Javier Larrea and compete against the world’s finest BMX racers at state, regional and national venues. VBS-Kenda Team Manager Joe Pittenger first met Diego at an Ohio NBL State Qualifier and felt he would be a good fit with the VBS crew. They will attend many of the same races in the Midwest this summer where Diego can offer advice to the younger riders while they help him practice his English skills. Diego attended his first Elite National as a Pro in May (Fresno, Calif.) and most recently made the main and finished 5th in the Elite Open at the Big A Midwest National on June 7, 2009 (VBS-Kenda finished 1st in Team NBL competition). Thus far Diego has used Kenda’s venerable K-Rad tires (1.95 front/1.75 rear) but plans to try the new folding bead Kontact Elite before returning home this fall.
