Kenda USA Support athlete Rachel Smith rode to two first place main event finishes at the NBL’s 2009 Midwest BMX Nationals. The track was in excellent condition and allowed Rachel to display some of the skills and speed that led to her ranking as the NBL’s 2008 National #3 Elite Woman. This was Rachel’s first race on Kenda’s new Dual Tread Compound (DTC) Small Block Eight and Kontact Elite high pressure, folding bead, premium tires. She believes the just released production tires capture the high performance characteristics of the prototype tires she tested for Kenda last season. Although both tires were in development for quite some time, Rachel remarked, “…they were well worth the wait. The new tires not only seem lighter and quicker, racers will discover that they are well suited to the ever more challenging BMX and SX tracks.”
