Brian Lopes, 4 time World Champion has had an unprecedented career and has been labeled by
USA Today as "Undisputedly the best all around world class cycling athlete". Having raced BMX for most of his
childhood, Brian turned Pro at the age of 17 and raced the circuit for 7 years before channeling all his efforts
in 1993 to mountain biking.
He has won over 17 titles in his MTB career, 9 of those on the NORBA National Circuit, 5 on the UCI World Cup
circuit and 3 prestigious World Championships.
Brian's most recent win could be one of his most satisfying
victories. After overcoming two consecutive injury-prone years he came back to win his third World Championship
title in glorious fashion on September 3rd, 2005 in Livigno, Italy by sweeping every round right through the
finals. He has more UCI World Cup career wins than any other male mountain biker in the history of the sport.
In addition, Brian is the man to beat in such high-profile events like Jeep's
"King of the Mountain" world
championships and Whistler's Crankworx festival where he has racked up numerous wins as well.
Brian is known by his fans and competitors alike for his flawless style and winning results, and is an
inspiration to bikers and action sport enthusiasts around the world. He was nominated in 2001 for an
ESPY "Action Sport Athlete of the Year" honor and has won two NEA World Extreme Sports Awards for Mountain
Biker of the Year in 2000 and 2001. As an exclamation point on an already illustrious career, expect to see
Brian as a future mountain bike hall of famer.
