Winona Lake, Here
We Come
The Primerica
DINO Mountain Bike Series is proud once again to be part
of this weekend's Northern
Indiana Fat and Skinny Tire Fest, an annual
tradition featuring road touring, road racing,
criterium, kids events, BMX stunt shows, music, food,
and of course the season kickoff for Indiana's premeire
mountain bike racing series!
Winona Lake's 10
mile course is always among the most popular in our
series. We offer categories for all ages and ability
levels.
Directions: Winona Lake is about an hour
west of Fort Wayne . Take US 30 to the East side of
Warsaw . Turn South / West on Center St. (Bob Evans at
this intersection). Proceed for 2 more lights on Center
and turn left on to Argonne Rd. Go to the stoplight,
under the viaduct and straight through the intersection.
The road becomes Park Ave. Follow Park Ave through the
village of Winona Lakes.
Turn left on Boys City
Dr. Follow Boys City Drive to the main gate of the trail
system. Primary parking and race
start/finish/registration is back in the property about
1/4 mile. You'll have to drive on the greenway trail for
a portion - use caution.
Start times on Saturday
are noon for Expert/Pro and Sport, 2pm for Beginners,
Juniors, Clydesdales, and Intro. The Shimano Youth
Series kids race (free, short, and easy) starts at 3:30
pm. Awards will be presented at approximately 3:45 - in
the village festival tent.

Spring Tune-up
Results
A rainy night and
race morning dampened the attendance for this year's
DINO Spring Tune-up. The Expert and Sport categories
racing at noon faced slightly slippery conditions, while
beginner levels starting at 2 pm enjoyed much better,
tacky trails as the sun came out.
Although no
real stakes were on the table, Gray Goat Sports did
provide door prizes which were randomly presented. The
event gave racers a chance to hone racing skills on the
challenging course at Avon's Washington Township
Community Park.
Chris Bowman (Gray Goat Sports)
topped the Expert/Pro field with a 4-lap race just over
an hour. William Toler (DRT) and Tony Silveus followed
with about a minute separation between each. The top
Sport rider was from the 30-34 age wave. Anthony Kunkler
(Matthews Bicycles) slipped timewise just ahead of a
sprint finish from the Open wave where John Wright
(Delta Faucet) crossed the line just ahead of Matt
Allgeier (Nebo Ridge).
Other winners were Chad
Nay in Beginner Men, Mark Malaby in Clydesdale, Kody
Hughes in Junior, Lesa Nelson in Beginner Women, and
Brendan Kluszynski in Intro.
